Celebrated Mayor Cherelle Parker’s 100 Days here for lunch. Everything was absolutely phenomenal. From the atmosphere, to the service, the attention to details, beautiful plates and napkins to the amazing food, Cantina La Martina is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Philly!

I have to be honest, the restaurant is not in the best location but I understand wanting a neighborhood like Kensington to have a nice place to eat and have a good time. Getting that out the way, the food was AMAZING and the drinks were even better. We started with mango Margheritas and a passiofruit frozen Margherita. Both delicious but I liked the passion fruit one more. We also had the guacamole which was some of the best I've ever had. For our entree we got the 24" quesadilla with beef and chicken and I got the shrimp dish. I can't remember the name of it with but I also got a side of plaintains and elotes. All the food was so good. I can't wait to go back and try more. We got the churros and cannoli to go. Very good. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes.

This has to be some of the best Mexican food in Philadelphia. I came with a group of friends and we got several different dishes that we shared and they were all outstanding (my novice photography skills don’t do them justice). Some of the best margaritas I’ve had in a while too! The ambiance is great, staff were friendly and attentive, and while we ate inside, the outdoor space seemed lovely. It’s right outside the Somerset stop on the MFL. I’m comfortable taking public transportation throughout the city but I would recommend coming with a friend if you do so, or taking a ride share to get to and from rather than driving. While this restaurant is in the heart of the Kensington neighborhood and the realities of this are quite evident, it’s a wonderful spot that does good work for its neighbors in Kensington and is well worth a trip for those who are a little adventurous and enjoy amazing and authentic food.

Great experience all around. Service was great, the food was even better. We sampled the guacamole trio—the goat cheese and pistachio was my favorite. Creative and unique flavor combination. My husband and I also did the quesadilla for two, with chicken and pastor. The pastor was PHENOMENAL. Full of flavor. We definitely enjoyed our meal here!

Great food. The inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated. The bartender was very knowledgeable about Tequila and mezcal and the differences between them. The outside near the entrance is a lil rough outside in the neighborhood. They do have an outdoor area that is fenced.
